He willed every iota of his power to work on getting rid of hunger, the other six proved easy, for they were all but constrains of the mind, but this, this was a constraint on the body. It had been seven months since he took his position in the rough cut stone cave, seven months since he tasted food, and not a moment went by without the thirst for sustenance. He took his bony excuse of a hand and dug into his stomach, squeezed it into a tiny sphere. The feeling began to fade, hungry no longer.
The first step he took in order to escape mortality was to deprive himself of sexual pleasure, lust had been the downfall of great men, it would not be his.
Second came temper, there was no one to get anger about in that cold little cave and once he was done hitting up the stone walls for all the reasons he had to be angry, it evaporated, another sin shed.
Greed was what drove him, the greedy to attain the unobtainable, so it was a tricky emotion, he wondered if he would still work to gain his goal if he abandoned his motivation.
Next in line came envy and pride. Two particular emotions he dint poses even as a mortal. Since he was busy dealing with other four, sloth never into play.
His transcendence began when he discarded his body, the very skin he lived in. He slowly started to climb the mountain of creation towards the peak. Every mammoth step he took covered acres of land. And as he climbed, he witnessed a birth of a galaxy from dust, he saw an ant struggle to lift a sugar cube, he was in the vein of the river, in the darkness of the moon. He was taking every inch of creation, feeling every bit of it. He was one, he was all, the essence of life, he was a God.
He stood there for an eternity, at the summit of oneness, gazing into the void, seeing all. Then he snapped his finger, his laptop magically appeared in front of him, he logged on to YouTube and started watching Stand-up Comedy
I had no idea where this story was leading to or why I was writing it, around half way I lost interest and found myself 42 videos deep into YouTube and there my ending was born.
