Lost Within

In a distant time, far from here, between his heart and the world, he discovered love.

It wasn’t the kind that said
“I am yours, you are mine.”

Instead one that yelled
“Against the entire world, I choose you.”

So he did what any lovestruck soul would do:
He abandoned the world for her. Somewhere in that journey, he lost himself.

This isn’t a tale of triumph. The world moved on, indifferent to his sacrifice.

He watched as she became a stranger. He wandered through memories, a ghost in his own life, seeking fragments of what he had forsaken.

Each day blurred into the next, his heart a barren scape, longing for the warmth of a love that had turned cold and in the echoes of his own solitude, he realized this isn’t a tale. Fools don’t get to narrate their own stories.

They are merely whispered in the wind, lost to the sands of time, forever chasing shadows of a love that was never truly theirs.
